In commemoration of National Mother's Day on December 22, 2023, Parenty donated 720 cartons of Parenty adult diapers to 30 nursing homes in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area. Through the tagline "Softness of Love", Parenty seeks to provide support and care to the elderly women living in Budi Mulia 3 Nursing Home on December 22, 2023. In addition to donating diapers, Parenty also invited the elderly to do various interesting activities such as playing games, singing, reading poetry and sharing. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2022, over the past ten years, the percentage of the elderly population in Indonesia has increased from 7.57 percent in 2012 to 10.48 percent in 2022. From this data, the number of elderly women is more than men and continues to increase along with improvements in health and life expectancy.
Titi Nurmalasari, Public Relations Manager of Parenty Indonesia said, "The increase in the elderly population from year to year in Indonesia goes hand in hand with improvements in health and life expectancy. Based on data from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the number of nursing homes in Indonesia in 2023 was 676 or around 64.4%. According to the International Continence Society (ICS), urinary incontinence is defined as the unconscious or unintentional release of urine or in other terms, urine leakage. Older women also experience menopause. Menopause is one of the risk factors that cause urinary incontinence. The latest data in 2014 showed that the prevalence of women suffering from urinary incontinence in Indonesia reached 13.5%.
Mr. Taupik, SE, M.Si, Head of Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 3 Social Home said, "Basically, the higher the level of incontinence, the higher the decrease in the quality of life of the patient. Therefore, even though elderly women are no longer in the parenting period, we hope that these elderly people still get support and attention from various parties. Not only from the family, but also the government and the wider community."
